Privacy-first PDF conversion

No upload PDF converter for Windows.

CometPDF is a no upload PDF converter for people who do not want private files sent to a website. It converts Office documents, spreadsheets, presentations, images, emails, text files, and PDFs locally on your Windows computer.

Online PDF converters are convenient, but they require trust. Your document must leave your computer, reach a third-party server, be processed remotely, and then return as a download. That can be a problem for contracts, invoices, client proposals, financial spreadsheets, HR files, legal records, internal reports, and Outlook emails. CometPDF avoids that workflow by keeping conversion on the machine.

No upload means no browser queue, no account, no server-side size limit, and no need to send confidential documents to an online converter.

Local conversion

Files are processed on your Windows computer. CometPDF does not upload selected documents during conversion.

Private by design

Useful for sensitive business files, personal records, internal emails, quotes, spreadsheets, and signed documents.

Two-way PDF tools

Convert files to PDF and export PDFs back to images, text, Word, or PowerPoint without using cloud converters.

Why no upload matters

A PDF converter often handles the exact files users should protect most: invoices, agreements, customer data, payroll notes, supplier price lists, medical forms, school records, and legal paperwork. Uploading those files to a free online tool may be unacceptable in an office, restricted network, or regulated workflow.

CometPDF is built for the opposite approach. Install it once, then convert locally whenever you need a PDF or a PDF export. It can use Microsoft Office, Outlook, or LibreOffice when those apps are installed, which helps preserve formatting while keeping the files on the computer.

FAQ

Does CometPDF upload my files?

No. CometPDF is designed as a local Windows desktop app. The files you select are converted on your computer, not sent to a CometPDF server.

Is it safer than an online PDF converter?

For private documents, local conversion reduces the risk of exposing files to a third-party upload service. You still need to use normal computer security practices, but the conversion itself stays local.

Does no upload mean it works offline?

Yes. After installation, normal conversion does not require an internet connection. You can convert supported files even when the computer is offline.

Can it convert PDFs back to other formats?

Yes. CometPDF 1.1 can export PDFs to PNG, JPG, TXT, DOCX, and PPTX. Some outputs are visual exports, so OCR-based fully editable reconstruction is planned for a future Pro version.

Why does Windows show a warning?

CometPDF is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen or Chrome may show an unknown publisher warning. The installer has 0 detections on VirusTotal across 70 antivirus engines, and the Portable ZIP can be used without installation.
