CometPDFDownload

Convert PDF to Word offline.

CometPDF exports PDF files to Word DOCX on Windows without uploading documents to an online converter. It preserves each PDF page visually inside a Word document, which is useful when you need a Word file that keeps the original page appearance.

This is a local Windows PDF to Word tool. The current output is visual DOCX, not OCR-based fully editable text.

How it works

  1. Install CometPDF for Windows.
  2. Add a PDF file and choose PDF to Word.
  3. CometPDF creates a DOCX file locally on your computer.

The conversion places PDF pages into a Word document as page images. This keeps invoices, scanned forms, reports, presentations, and signed documents close to their original look while giving you a DOCX file you can store, share, or annotate in Microsoft Word.

Why use offline PDF to Word?

PDF files often contain contracts, private records, client documents, price sheets, identity paperwork, or internal reports. Uploading those files to a web converter can be risky because the file leaves your computer and is processed on a third-party server. CometPDF performs PDF to Word conversion locally on Windows, so the document stays on the machine.

This first reverse-conversion feature focuses on faithful visual preservation. That means it is best for creating a Word copy that looks like the PDF, rather than rebuilding every paragraph as editable text. OCR and advanced editable PDF reconstruction are planned for a future Pro release, but the current version is simple, private, and useful for everyday archiving.

Good uses

If you need exact visual layout more than editable text, this mode is a practical offline choice. It also works well when the PDF contains mixed content such as images, stamps, signatures, tables, and page graphics.

FAQ

Does CometPDF upload my PDF?

No. PDF to Word conversion happens on your Windows computer. CometPDF does not send your PDF to a server during conversion.

Is the Word file fully editable?

The current PDF to Word output preserves PDF pages visually inside a DOCX file. It is useful for layout fidelity, but it is not the same as OCR-based editable text reconstruction.

Does it work with scanned PDFs?

Does it work on Windows 10 and Windows 11?
